Fractional CTO / a few days per month
Fractional CTO:
senior leadership,
part-time.
Many companies need the judgement of an experienced CTO long before they can justify, or find, a full-time one. As your fractional CTO I work with you for a fixed number of days per month: I own the technical direction, make and document the hard decisions and help your developers, freelancers or agency deliver.
Discuss your situation
When it fits
- Founders without a technical co-founder who need someone to own technology decisions.
- Startups that work with freelancers or an agency and want an independent technical lead on their side.
- Scale-ups whose product has outgrown its first architecture.
- Companies preparing a funding round that need a credible technical story for investors.
What I take over
-
Technical strategy and roadmap
Translate business goals into a realistic plan: what to build, what to buy, what to leave out, and in which order.
-
Architecture decisions
Choose and document the architecture, review critical changes and keep technical debt visible and under control.
-
Team, freelancers and agencies
Define roles, interview developers, brief and review external partners, set up code reviews and a delivery process that fits your size.
-
Security, hosting and compliance
Make sure the basics are in place: backups, access rights, monitoring, updates and GDPR-compliant hosting.
-
Founders, board and investors
Explain technology, risks and budgets in plain language, in board meetings and in investor conversations.

Questions about the fractional CTO role
How many days per month do I need?
That depends on the stage of the company and the size of the team. We agree on a fixed number of days after the first conversation and adjust it when your needs change.
Can a fractional CTO lead a development team?
Yes, as long as the team has a working day-to-day structure. I set direction, standards and priorities. If a larger team needs daily leadership, an interim engagement is usually the better fit.
Do you replace our agency or freelancers?
No. I work on your side: I brief them, review their work and make sure that what you pay for fits your goals.
